The King James Bible and Hatfield House

We were commissioned by the British Council, who with the King James Bible Trust were celebrating the 400th anniversary of 'The King James Bible' and its impact on the English Language. Robert Cecil, 1st Earl of Salisbury was one of the Privy Councillors who received a copy of the bible from King James and it is the only original Privy Council one to survive to this day. This is its story and the connection to Hatfield House, which also celebrates 400 years. Filmed in SD, with 1 camera and using just a basic tripod dolly for the tracking shots. Everything was kept as simple as possible with minimal kit. Our thanks and appreciation to our client, the British Council, Hatfield House and the Marquess of Salisbury. A Charles Dickens reading

One in a series of 10 short films to celebrate the 200th anniversary of the birth of Charles Dickens and his impact on the English language. This film is about a series of short readings from two of Charles Dickens stories, by his great-great-great grand-daughter Lucinda Hawksley. To break up the film we used images and scans of text pages from his original books, that is the published first books not the magazines in which they first appeared. Filmed for the British Council, on whose website the series can be seen at;- http://www.teachingenglish.org.uk/dickens including a musical celebration concert of his talent.filmed by ourselves which was also live streamed. With thanks to the British Council and Lucinda Hawksley. Full credits at the end of the film. Filmed in HD using a Sony EX1 XDCAM and Cannon 650D
Jubile Sailing Trust

A really old film we made way back in the early 2000's (4:3 and SD - yuck... ! ) but there is a really good message and story. We gave our time to film, edit and produce a short story about a typical JST voyage, how disabled people sail specially adapted tall ships and live a 'normal' life. Some powerful comments from all involved and the only film I have made where emotions needed to be controlled. Storms and plain sailing, nothing like a wind jammer .... at the mercy of nature, but beautiful sunsets and dolphins. Jubilee Sailing Trust

Award Ceremonies and Events

Restaurant & Bar Design Awards - Summary

The Restaurant & Bar Design Awards, held at the iconic 1930's art deco RIBA in central London on the 6th September 2012 presented us with the challenge of capturing not just the awards, but the fantastic structures that were erected the preceeding 24 hours in the home of Architecture and Design (providing a great backdrop) and how guests and the party related to them - which was basically our brief !! The client did not want any narrative, just music, preferring to let the images speak for themselves. The structures wwere built especially for the event by the French Group and Nicholas Alexander with lighting by Firefly Lighting Design. Those fabulous cocktails by Shaker and great waiting staff with superb uniforms and the designed serving trays from Ampersand. We were assisted in filming by MB Films and media partner Gearing Media who created the party video https://vimeo.com/49392064 We hope you enjoy our interpretation of the structure, its build and the fabulous party afterwards, we could have made it 5 or 10 minutes long, but if you are a designer, then go next year.. Filmed using 2 sony EX1's, Cannon 5D, 7D, 550 and 650, plus a Jib and lots of timelapse photography. Thanks to Ed, James and of course our client Marco.

Little Britain Challenge Cup 2003/4/5/6 & 11

The Little Britain Challenge is a property and construction industry regatta held in Cowes over 3 days every September to raise funds for charity. Upto 240 entries from full ocean going racing boats to mid sized yachts, serious racing to participation for fun for about 2,500 people.
We filmed the 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006 and 2011 events in order to provide edited highlights at each evening's dinner in a large marquee for all 2500 participants to view on overhead screens as well as providing a live feed of events and speeches each evening on the marquee screens.
During the day we were out on ribs with steadycams and onboard participating yachts. Footage was sent back to an editor who compiled summary video clips to music for the screenings - morning footage at 5pm and the full day's highlights from 7.30pm. In 2005 a multimedia disk was produced by a sponsor containing the video which was sent to all participants.
